Re Cognition: The Clan Analogue Legacy Collection Launch

Clan Analogue launch their new triple-disc retrospective Re Cognition: The Clan Analogue Legacy Collection with a night of live electronic music at:

The launch will feature live performances from Koshowko, Windup Toys and Apell, DJ sets from DJ Zaziz and live visuals by Object_State, a lineup which spans the multifarious coordinates of Clan Analogue’s electronic music spectrum, from experimental sonics to funked-up dance grooves and beyond.

Re Cognition: The Clan Analogue Legacy Collection

Re Cognition is a collectible three-disc set, containing a selection of the most seminal acts of Clan Analogue including B(if)ftek, Infusion, Deepchild and more.

Apell is featured with 2 tracks on on Disc B which is a selection of remixes produced from the new generation of Clan Analogue’s. Purchase CD/DVD or Download on iTunes.

The 1st track is the Apell remix of Grubbing For Truffles by Soft Spoken Spanky. The experimental ambient to industrial track is give a bass guitar work over with added chords and riffs elaborating on the basic structure of the track.

The 2nd track is a remix of Apell’s Wrinkled by DJ Zaziz which is a groovy reworking of the track originally featured on the bonus disc for the 2006 Dub Compilation In Version.

The set includes a companion DVD. With classic film clips by Deepchild, Telemetry Orchestra, Pear Shaped and others, the disc includes the new documentary Clan Analogue: Plug In & Switch On and the influential 1995 VHS release Clan Analogue Live at the Goethe Institute.

The first video form the Reconstituted CD launch is now on the Apell YouTube Channel. Training Hard is electro funk music featuring a groovy synth bass mixed with a couple of funky slap bass riffs which are then topped of with a layer of noodling electro synths. - 1/2009

New Video "So You Know "

A live rehearsal of So You Know is now viewable on YouTube, The song is about getting off your arse (Aussie spelling) and getting things done. You only live once and “you know there isn’t that much time left”... The vocals on the track are performed by Jason Demillo - 11/2008

New Video "Dubya"

"Dubya" is a song about George W Bush and his Presidency of the USA. The lyrics are inspired by quotes from George W Bush or from his actions during the time that he was President. George W Bush entitled Dubya.

New Album Reconstited Released

Reconstituted is an album of songs and instrumentals ranging in styles from drum n bass to chill out and dub.

The electronic music includes covers of Neil Young and George Harrison songs, funky slap bass, remixing of older Apell tracks and a dub tribute to George W Bush entitled Dubya.

Electronic Music Commission

Apell has been commissioned to write 2 one minute pieces for Perth's Arts Festival Artrage. The 1st is called MOBILE CELL and is entirely composed from mobile (or "cell" for you Americans!) phone sounds except for the beats and a bit of bass. The 2nd piece is the 12 tone electronica track UNDERSCORE from the album Beaver Street & Beyond. 11/8/2004
